Just a heads up for my regular readers:

Over the next 11 weeks or so until Election Day, I will be presenting a series of posts on the Washington Ballot Initiatives, the Oregon Ballot Measures, and on the candidates running for major offices around Cascadia.  Of course, you will be graced by my usual flavor of Liberal Commentary, as well as trying to explain what is right and wrong with both sides of the issues.

My plan is to introduce as many of the issues as possible over the next few weeks, then revisit the issues as we see more public discussion about them closer to Election Day.  You can bet that I have an opinion about just about everything.  However, you will also find that I can appreciate good points that are made on both sides of the issues, and will consider other opinions.  I would encourage comments both for and against the issues, as learning the opinions of both sides can help us all learn about the needs of others.

One thing that frustrates me in general about debate in the media today is that our print, broadcast, and online media are full of comments by persons and groups on both sides of each issue, but there is a serious lack of rebuttal on any issue.  In other words, I rarely see any contribution anywhere where a Conservative directly answers a concern or question posed by a Liberal, or a Liberal directly answers a concern or question posed by a Conservative.   I would certainly welcome any such discussion, either here or anywhere else.

Thank you for visiting Cascadia Journal!
