I am intrigued by sodomy being included in the list of "major felony sex crimes". I thought the Supreme Court threw out the Texas anti-sodomy law in the famous Texas Sodomy Trial some years ago. Since when has Oregon had such a law and what are its implications here?

This is but yet another attempt to deny equal protection under the law, under the Constitution and further negate the concept of due process. It's decidedly a "feel good" response to a tragic event, nonetheless a measure that has not been well-conceived . . . as with almost all law enacted post 9/11, we continue to see our civil liberties disappear through legal errosion. Didn't George Bush Jr. exclaim that terrorism would never force America to change its way of life? Short-sighted laws like Res. No. 4220 show exactly the opposite has happened, and the phenomenon will continue unabated as long someone, somewhere, can find any excuse to cut just another few branches off our liberty tree.

Both religions acknowledge that both faiths are descended from Abraham - are not Ishmael and Isaac half brothers? So now Christians choose are you to be like Cain and slay your own brother?

1 Timothy 5:8 ESV /

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, ..., he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Well said! You put down into writing what I also mull around in my head - every time I read, or hear, an anti-Muslim comment. Thank you for your insight...and for making me feel like I'm not alone in my way of thinking.

I realize this is nitpicking, but I feel like I have to say it. World War 2 started in September 1939, not 1941. The US entered the war in 1941, but it was already a world-wide conflict before then.

I've been interested in taxation for lengthier then I care to acknowledge, both on the personal side (all my working life history!!) and from a legal viewpoint since satisfying the bar and following tax law. I've supplied a lot of advice and corrected a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you've put up makes utter sense. Please carry on the good work - the more people know the better they'll be outfitted to deal with the tax man, and that's what it's all about.
